LUBOK JONG - Every time I see the people of Palestine, I cannot stop my tears from falling. The pain, the hunger, and the fear that they endure touch the deepest part of my heart. What moves me most are the innocent children — those who still smile even when their lives are surrounded by destruction. Their eyes tell a thousand untold stories of loss, hope, and resilience.
When I see a small child holding an empty bowl, asking for food with gentle eyes, I feel a deep ache in my soul. These children do not deserve this suffering. They should be in classrooms, holding pencils, learning to read and write, not living under the sound of bombs or searching for bread in ruins. Yet, despite their hunger and fear, they still express joy when they are given the chance to attend school. Their laughter in the midst of war is both heartbreaking and inspiring.
Subhanallah, how strong they are. These children remind me of the meaning of patience and faith. While the world watches, they continue to dream, to learn, and to hope. Each smile they offer becomes a silent prayer — a prayer for peace, for freedom, and for a future without fear.
As a teacher, I imagine what it would be like to teach these children — to tell them that knowledge is a light that no weapon can destroy. I wish I could hold their hands and say, “You are not alone. The world has not forgotten you.” Every child deserves a safe home, a full stomach, and a peaceful classroom.
The children of Palestine are not just victims of war; they are symbols of courage and endurance. Their small hands may tremble, but their hearts are filled with strength. They remind us that compassion is not about distance or nationality — it is about humanity.
I pray every day that Allah will protect them, ease their pain, and grant them a future brighter than the darkness they endure now. May the world open its eyes and hearts, and may peace embrace Palestine soon.
